- Prismacolor Premier wax pencils layer and burnish very differently from how their barrels look. A hand-swatched sheet shows the true paper colour and lets you see how each pencil sits next to its neighbours.
- What paper should I use for Prismacolor swatches?
- Smooth heavyweight paper (90-100 lb) like Strathmore Bristol Smooth or Stonehenge. Toothy paper grabs more pigment but makes blending harder, so pick whichever matches the surface you actually colour on.
- How do I sort Prismacolor pencils?
- Most colourists group by hue (reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, violets, browns, greys, neutrals) and then by value within each group. The official PC codes are not in colour order, so sort visually by hex - our builder shows the swatches as you pick.
